SAP FICO Consultant – Freelance (Brussels, Belgium)

For a customer within the retail and distribution sector, we are looking for an SAP FICO Consultant to join on a long-term freelance basis.

The organization operates across multiple business units in Belgium and Europe, with a strong focus on supply chain efficiency, retail operations, and financial transparency. As part of an ongoing SAP transformation program, the company is harmonising its financial processes and integrating new business entities into a unified SAP S/4HANA landscape.

The role focuses on providing expert-level functional support and driving improvements in finance and controlling processes, ensuring that system solutions align with business needs and long-term digital strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as the primary functional expert for SAP FI and CO modules, ensuring smooth operations and continuous process improvement.
Configure and optimise SAP FI (GL, AP, AR, AA) and CO (CCA, PCA, COPA, Internal Orders) modules to meet evolving business requirements.
Support and guide finance teams during S/4HANA migration and integration of new business units..
Conduct testing, training, and deployment activities for SAP updates or new functionalities.
Troubleshoot functional issues and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory accounting standards.

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of experience as an SAP FICO Consultant.
Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance and integration with logistics modules (MM, SD).
Understanding of intercompany processes, asset accounting, and profitability analysis..
Experience within the retail, wholesale, or FMCG sector is a strong plus.

CONTRACT: Freelance

LOCATION: Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid)

ONSITE POLICY: 2–3 days per week on-site

HOURS PER WEEK: 40

LANGUAGES: English (French and Dutch is a plus)
