Data Governance Analyst - 12 Month Contract - Outside IR35 - £550 per day

A leading consumer-focused organisation is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to strengthen its data foundations and support high-quality, insight-driven decision-making across the business.

The Role

The Data Governance Analyst will enhance the organisation’s ability to make informed decisions by working closely with data and business stakeholders to design and deliver sustainable data solutions.

The role focuses on analysing and diagnosing data process issues across core systems (such as CRM and reporting platforms), and implementing robust, scalable fixes that improve data accuracy, reliability, timeliness, and security. Solutions will be delivered through system configuration, software development changes, automation, reconciliation reporting, and supporting documentation and training.

By embedding improved processes directly into systems, the role will drive permanent improvements in data quality, stewardship, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Analyse inefficiencies across core business data systems (e.g. CRM and reporting platforms) and design solutions that streamline workflows and improve data quality
Perform root-cause analysis of data issues and implement corrective and preventative fixes through system configuration, automation, reporting, and process redesign
Identify opportunities to reduce manual processing and embed controls within systems
Collaborate with business stakeholders, system owners, and data stewards to deliver sustainable data integrity improvements
Design and document data governance frameworks, policies, and standards
Define data quality metrics and create reconciliation and reporting tools to track governance KPIs
Ensure data processes and system changes comply with data privacy, security, and protection regulations (e.g. GDPR)
Create data documentation including data dictionaries, process maps, and governance playbooks
Develop guidance and training materials to support improved data literacy and stewardship across teams

Skills & Experience

3+ years’ experience in a data governance or data quality role
Strong knowledge of data governance principles, data quality frameworks, and master data management
Demonstrated experience delivering solutions that improve data accuracy, reliability, and efficiency
Experience working with software development teams, automation initiatives, and complex system configurations
Solid understanding of data privacy regulations and best practices for data protection
Proven ability to analyse complex datasets and translate findings into practical improvements
Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working across technical and non-technical teams

Technical Skills

Hands-on experience with CRM reporting and data quality management
Familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI and CRM dashboards
Working knowledge of SQL
Comfortable using the Microsoft software suite
