About the Opportunity
Our client is undertaking a major systems transition following a business acquisition and is looking for a hands-on Data Consultant to support a high‑impact ERP migration project. Reporting to the Controller, you will work closely with the local operations manager, the Quebec-based project manager, and an IT/data specialist to ensure critical operational and financial data is accurately transferred from the legacy system into the new rental management platform.
This is an “all hands on deck” initiative with strong executive visibility, where your attention to detail and Excel expertise will directly influence a successful go-live. You’ll be joining a cross-functional project team (Toronto and Quebec) during a pivotal cutover period, with intensive in-office collaboration in North York, ON. The migration approach, templates, and test imports are already in place, so you can focus on data extraction, transformation, loading, and validation rather than system design or configuration. Training guides and system support from head office and the software vendor are available to help you hit the ground running.

Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Controller, operations manager, project manager, and IT/data specialist to understand data structures, import templates, and migration timelines.
Extract data from the legacy rental system (Texada) and generate multiple reports/exports required for migration.
Consolidate and transform legacy data from multiple Excel files into standardized import templates for the new system (e.g., Wynne Rentalman).
Prepare and validate import files for key master data domains, including:
- Vendor master
- Customer master
- Parts master
- Equipment master
Support and execute data imports during the cutover window (including evening work on go‑live day as required).
Perform detailed data reconciliation post-import to ensure completeness and accuracy of migrated records.
Verify that manually entered records (e.g., rental contracts, purchase orders, shop work orders) are correctly and fully captured in the new system.
Generate and compare system reports from the new platform against manual documents and/or legacy system reports to confirm alignment.
Support manual documentation and input processes during the go-live period (e.g., printing and organizing manual rental contracts, purchase orders, and work orders).
Liaise with head office project and IT teams to troubleshoot data issues, clarify template requirements, and resolve discrepancies.
Leverage training materials and guides developed by head office to follow best practices in data handling and entry.

What You Bring
Proven experience in a data-focused role (e.g., data analyst, data migration specialist, reporting analyst, or similar) with significant work in Excel.
Advanced Excel skills, including:
- Working with large datasets and multiple files
- Using formulas, lookups, filters, and data cleansing techniques
- Consolidating data from various sources into a single, structured format
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to matching and validating manual documents with system data.
Demonstrated experience in data validation, quality checks, and reconciliation between different systems or reports.
Comfort working with exported data and predefined import templates; ability to interpret column requirements and mapping rules.
Excellent organizational skills to manage high volumes of records under tight timelines (including during a focused cutover week).
Ability to collaborate effectively with finance, operations, project management, and IT stakeholders.
Flexibility to work fully on-site in North York for the initial go-live and manual-processing period (5 days in office), with potential to transition to ~4 days in office thereafter.
Availability to start immediately or on very short notice and commit to the full migration period (approximately 2–3 months).
Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset, given some system elements, codes, and documentation originate in French.
