Get hands-on finance experience – support real business decisions that make a difference to our tenants and communities.

We're a housing association, here to provide safe, affordable homes and to build stronger communities across the Midlands. And we're offering students the chance to intern in our Commercial Finance team - where you'll gain practical experience in management accounting and finance business partnering, learning how financial insights help drive positive change for tenants.

12-Month Internship: Starting 7th September 2026.

Your Role:

You'll apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges – working alongside Finance Business Partners and Management Accountants and gaining insight into management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and performance monitoring. You'll develop a first-hand appreciation of how finance teams support social housing — ensuring we provide safe, quality homes while delivering value for money for our tenants.

Your day to day will see you:

Assisting in preparing financial journals and monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and reporting.
Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes by collating data and preparing working papers.
Helping monitor financial performance across directorates, identifying trends and variances.
Contributing to producing reports and presentations for senior managers.
Taking part in project work, mentoring, and development activities as part of your internship.

What we're looking for:

Currently studying (or recently completed) a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
Strong numeracy and analytical skills, with confidence using Excel.
Ability to communicate financial information clearly and concisely.
Detail-oriented, organised, and motivated to learn.
Enthusiasm, openness to feedback, and a genuine desire to develop professionally.
