Role Description
We are seeking an execution-driven Brand Marketing Manager to lead integrated planning across all channels. This key player must be equal parts storyteller and planner: able to create holistic, 360° marketing and content campaigns that connect brand, product, and retail programs that drive measurable growth. The ideal candidate is organized, scrappy, and deeply passionate about impact and clean beauty. They thrive at the intersection of brand building and performance—bringing together consumer empathy, bold ideas, and commercial acumen to help scale our portfolio of purpose-drive brands.
Key Responsibilities
Integrated Marketing & Campaign Execution
With the Head of Brand & Marketing, develop and execute full-funnel marketing plans to support product launches, brand storytelling, retail programs, and promotional events.
Own the omnichannel marketing calendar, syncing campaigns, content, promotions, and retail activations across all channels.
Collaborate with Creative, Sales, and Product partners to ensure content and campaign needs are mapped to product and retailer priorities.
Brief, create, and publish content across channels to deliver meaningful narratives that honor our heritage and resonate with our diverse consumers.
DTC
Manage product pages, storytelling and assets for DTC and e-tailers.
Partner with e-commerce agency to optimize DTC user experience and sales velocity.
Plan promotions and collaborate with Operations to ensure inventory-aligned execution.
Social Media & Community Engagement
Cultivate a values-aligned brand community centered on clean beauty, African wellness traditions, and empowerment.
Oversee content and community management in junction with social media agency.
Scale influencer and creator collaborations to build credibility, UGC, and earned reach.
Support events, activations and brand partnerships that drive brand awareness and grow our community.
Voice of the Customer
Monitor and synthesize VoC inputs (emails, reviews, social, surveys) to identify key insights, trends, and opportunities.
Translate customer feedback into actionable recommendations for brand messaging, campaigns, and product support initiatives.
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure customer perspectives are incorporated into launches and ongoing marketing programs.
Retail & Shopper Marketing
Collaborate with Sales to build compelling sell-in tools, in-store merchandising, and co-branded programs with key retail partners (e.g., Whole Foods Market, Sprouts).
Drive retail-specific campaigns and promotions to increase awareness and velocity at shelf.
Serve as a key partner to Sales and Product Development to align on GTM strategy, timelines, and execution.
Reporting & KPIs
Deliver regular reporting with marketing insights and recommendations to guide strategy and optimize performance, drive growth and engagement.
Track and report on core VoC metrics (sentiment, ratings, recurring issues) to inform optimization and continuous improvement
Qualifications
6+ years of experience in integrated or brand marketing, ideally within beauty, lifestyle, or CPG
Proven track record of building brands and leading omni-channel campaigns that drive growth
Demonstrated ability to grow DTC and digital retail channels, with hands-on experience in social commerce
Passion for sustainability, clean beauty, and purpose-driven business models
Strong project management and cross-functional communication skills
Deep understanding of the intersection between creative storytelling and commercial strategy
Exceptional storyteller with copy chops, creative sensibility and data-driven mindset
Strategic thinker with commercial acumen and strong consumer empathy
Team player who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and has a sense of humor!

Alaffia is a social enterprise on a mission to alleviate poverty and advance gender equality in West Africa through the fair trade of indigenous ingredients found in every one of its beauty and personal care products. Preserving cultural traditions and knowledge, Alaffia handcrafts its award-winning clean and plant-based collections with unrefined shea butter, African black soap, coconut oil, neem extract, and baobab and moringa oils from the women-led Alaffia Village Co-op.
