Job Specifications

ASSYST is seeking for a Cybersecurity Architect for our upcoming project in Washington D.C.

The Cybersecurity Architect will lead the strategic design and technical implementation of secure network and cloud infrastructures while managing a team of engineers to mitigate enterprise risk through NIST-aligned assessments and executive-level advocacy.

Requirements:

Professional Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in designing, building, testing, and implementing enterprise-level security systems within an organization's IT network infrastructure.

Leadership: At least 5 years of experience successfully managing and mentoring a team of Security Engineers.

Technical Proficiency: Extensive hands-on experience and architectural knowledge of the following:

Network Security: Wireless Networks, Firewalls, and IDS/IPS.
Infrastructure: LAN/WAN architectures.
Security Operations: SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) implementation.
Modern Infrastructure: Cloud integration strategies and hybrid environment security.

Risk Management & Compliance:

Proven track record of applying risk management techniques to perform comprehensive risk assessments. Must demonstrate proficiency in NIST standards to ensure system designs sufficiently mitigate Information Assurance (IA) risks.

Communication & Stakeholder Management:

Ability to interact with a broad cross-section of personnel, ranging from technical staff to senior management.
Strong capacity to explain complex security concepts and enforce security measures necessary to protect agency assets.
Excellent training, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

Certifications:

CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) is required.
CISSP-ISSAP (Information Systems Security Architecture Professional) is highly preferred.
