Standard hours: Monday–Friday between 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Critical systems support may require work between 5:00 AM – 1:00 AM, including weekends, until systems are restored
Onsite attendance required for meetings at: 4815 Mueller Blvd Austin Texas
Key Responsibilities
Support, maintain, and enhance mission-critical enterprise applications supporting Mobile Workforce Management (MWM) and Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS)
Ensure 24x7x365 operational stability for production systems
Troubleshoot complex application, database, and system performance issues
Support system integrations, job scheduling, and disaster recovery processes
Perform system health checks, tuning, and capacity planning
Support patching, upgrades, and environment maintenance across DEV, TEST, and PROD
Develop and maintain system documentation and support training efforts
Provide on-call and after-hours support for critical production systems
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Monitor and run system batches; analyze and resolve failures or performance degradation
Implement customer-requested changes, enhancements, and configuration updates
Maintain and optimize Oracle databases and PL/SQL processes
Perform UNIX/Linux system administration tasks, including shell scripting (ksh)
Support application and infrastructure upgrades, patches, and deployments
Develop and maintain operational and analytical reports for enterprise applications
Coordinate with cross-functional IT teams to support integrations and dependencies
Respond to production incidents, including nights and weekends when required
Document system processes, troubleshooting steps, and operational procedures
Preferred Experience and Attributes
8+ years supporting large-scale, business-critical enterprise applications
8+ years of Oracle Database and PL/SQL experience, including integrations
Extensive experience administering and troubleshooting MWM, MDMS, or similar enterprise systems
Strong UNIX/Linux experience (AIX, Red Hat, SUSE)
Advanced shell scripting experience (KornShell / ksh)
Proven expertise in system performance evaluation, tuning, and capacity planning
Experience across full SDLC environments (DEV, TEST, PROD)
Knowledge of Oracle Mobile Workforce Management (MWM) and Landis+Gyr MDMS
Experience with WebLogic 12.2 server maintenance
Application security experience, including Java keystore management
Strong development skills in Java, Groovy, JavaScript, and Python
Experience building and supporting APIs, including robust error handling
Strong documentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively
