Senior Cloud Engineer (4–5 Years Experience)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and manage secure, scalable cloud infrastructure in a production environment. This role is ideal for professionals with 4–5 years of hands-on cloud experience who are comfortable owning cloud platforms, guiding junior engineers, and working closely with DevOps, security, and application teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS and/or Azure
Lead cloud implementation, optimisation, and migration initiatives
Ensure high availability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency
Monitor cloud environments and proactively resolve performance issues
Implement cloud security best practices, IAM, and governance controls
Support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior cloud engineers
Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and architecture diagrams
Cloud & Infrastructure
Manage compute, storage, networking, and identity services
Design and support resilient architectures (HA, DR, backups)
Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions
Automation & DevOps
Automate infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools
Support containerised workloads and orchestration platforms
Collaborate with DevOps teams on release and deployment strategies
Required Skills & Experience
4–5 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role
Strong hands-on experience with:
AWS and/or Microsoft Azure
Linux and Windows server environments
Proven experience in:
Cloud networking (VPC/VNet, subnets, security groups)
Identity & access management (IAM / RBAC)
Monitoring and troubleshooting cloud systems
Experience with:
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, or CloudFormation)
CI/CD pipelines and automation
Nice to Have
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Exposure to DevSecOps practices
Multi-cloud experience
Experience working in enterprise or regulated environments
Certifications (Preferred)
AWS Solutions Architect – Associate / Professional
Microsoft Azure Administrator or Azure Solutions Architect
Equivalent cloud certifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (preferred)
Equivalent professional experience considered
