Senior Cloud Engineer

Full Time / Hybrid

2 days per week onsite in London

You will be responsible for building, operating, and improving large-scale cloud environments that support critical digital platforms.

Key responsibilities include:

Designing and operating highly available cloud environments using public cloud platforms
Building and maintaining secure, resilient network architectures (virtual networks, routing, firewalls, load balancing)
Working closely with product, engineering, and delivery teams to translate business needs into scalable infrastructure
Influencing technical direction across dependent engineering teams to improve platform reliability and delivery
Creating automated provisioning and deployment pipelines using Infrastructure as Code
Continuously improving platform architecture through modern cloud engineering practices
Managing cloud resources efficiently while meeting governance and compliance requirements
Supporting and mentoring other engineers to promote high standards of engineering practice
Diagnosing and resolving infrastructure and platform issues across environments

Required experience

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
5+ years of experience working with public cloud platforms (e.g. GCP, AWS, or Azure)
5+ years of experience with CI/CD systems (e.g. GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure Pipelines, etc.)
5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in at least one modern language (e.g. Python, TypeScript, Go, Rust)
3+ years working with container platforms and orchestration technologies (e.g. Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker)
3+ years using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform

Nice to have

Strong understanding of modern engineering practices (Git-based workflows, DevOps, observability, automation)
Experience working in agile delivery environments using tools such as Jira or Confluence
Familiarity with open-source tooling and communities
Experience with cloud security, vulnerability scanning, and risk management tools
Strong knowledge of networking concepts for large-scale, container-based platforms
