Tech Lead (Shopify)

Salary: Up to £100,000 base

Location: UK-based, ideally London (flexible)

A high-growth consumer brand is looking for a hands-on Tech Lead to own and scale its Shopify eCommerce platform.

This role sits at the intersection of leadership and delivery. You’ll set technical direction, support a small engineering team, and remain deeply involved in building and optimising a high-performing Shopify storefront.

What You’ll Do

Own and evolve a Shopify eCommerce platform
Lead a small team while remaining hands-on
Build high-performance front-end solutions
Optimise UX, site speed, and conversion
Partner with commercial teams on growth initiatives
Deliver a safe migration from a custom platform to Shopify

What We’re Looking For

Strong Shopify experience in an eCommerce environment, ideally in a senior or lead role
Deep knowledge of Shopify themes, Liquid, Online Store 2.0, and Shopify CLI
Strong JavaScript, CSS, and SCSS skills
Experience migrating from custom platforms to Shopify
An end-to-end ownership mindset

Nice to Have

Experience with Shopify APIs, apps, and third-party integrations
Strong grasp of performance optimisation and conversion best practices
Background working in small, high-growth or startup teams
