ServiceNow CMDB Developer — Key Responsibilities & Skills
We’re hiring a ServiceNow CMDB Developer who knows how to turn fragmented infrastructure data into a clean, authoritative source of truth. This role is for someone who understands the CMDB at a deep technical level and brings strong data-analysis and ingestion skills to keep it accurate, scalable, and reliable.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain CMDB classes, relationships, identifiers, and reconciliation logic using the Identification & Reconciliation Engine (IRE).
Design, maintain, and enhance application data models within the CMDB, ensuring accurate representation of app components, dependencies, and relationships.
Implement and support CSDM-aligned data models and service relationships.
Develop and optimize Transform Maps, Import Sets, scripted transforms, and bulk/delta data-loading pipelines.
Configure and support IntegrationHub, including custom spokes, REST integrations, and automated ingestion workflows.
Deploy, troubleshoot, and tune Service Graph Connectors for onboarding external datasets.
Configure and validate Discovery, MID Servers, patterns, probes, and sensors to populate accurate CI data.
Analyze datasets for completeness, accuracy, duplicates, conflicts, and lifecycle issues; drive corrective actions.
Build dashboards and data-quality reporting to monitor CMDB health, reconciliation success, and data coverage.
Develop automation scripts and workflows to eliminate manual cleanup and enforce CMDB governance policies.
Collaborate with infra, app, cloud, and asset teams to align on authoritative sources and CI lifecycle models.
Required Skills
Deep hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB, IRE, CSDM, Discovery, and CMDB reconciliation rules.
Strong experience with IntegrationHub, spokes, scripted REST APIs, and data ingestion patterns.
Practical knowledge of Service Graph Connectors and troubleshooting connector imports.
Proficient in JavaScript and Glide API for server/client scripting.
Strong data-analysis mindset: mapping logic, deduplication, normalization, and error resolution.
Solid understanding of infrastructure, cloud, networking, and application components.
