$185,000+ (based on experience)
Position Description:
We are seeking a Lead ServiceNow Developer with deep Service Portal and UI customization experience to support a mission-critical federal program. This role will serve as a technical leader responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing ServiceNow portal solutions that deliver intuitive user experiences and scalable functionality.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on development expertise, a deep understanding of the ServiceNow platform, and the ability to collaborate closely with product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams in a secure, Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain custom ServiceNow Service Portals with a focus on usability, performance, and accessibility
• Build and enhance custom portal widgets using AngularJS, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Translate functional requirements into scalable technical solutions in partnership with Product Owners and Architects
• Configure and customize ServiceNow applications, workflows, and UI components
• Support user, group, and role configuration aligned with security and access requirements
• Serve as a technical advisor to the program team, defining best practices for configuration, scripting, and automation
• Design and implement integrations using REST, SOAP, JSON, JDBC, and file-based imports
• Support data migration efforts from legacy systems into ServiceNow, ensuring accuracy and integrity
• Conduct testing and validation of configurations and customizations
• Monitor and optimize platform performance and reliability
• Support change management activities and end-user adoption
• Collaborate with Agile / SAFe scrum teams to deliver incremental value
• Develop and maintain thorough technical documentation for all custom solutions
• Stay current on ServiceNow releases, features, and industry best practices
Required Skills & Education:
• Active secret clearance
• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of professional IT experience
• Active Secret clearance
• 5+ years of ServiceNow implementation and development experience
• 3+ years of ServiceNow Service Portal development experience
• Proven experience building and customizing portal widgets and UI components
• Strong JavaScript scripting skills
• Hands-on experience configuring ServiceNow applications and workflows
• Experience integrating ServiceNow with external systems
• Understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture and best practices
• Experience working in IL5 and IL6 environments (preferred)
• Ability to work effectively in secure, regulated federal environments
Preferred Certifications:
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator
• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer
• Other ServiceNow platform certifications
