Product Improvement Engineer - Contract - 2 days in Hatfield

We are working with a well known technology, automation and mechanical engineering business that is looking for a Product Improvement Engineer, initially on a 9 month contract. You will:

Define and support technical requirements and functional analysis for new products, influencing design with data.
Predict and mitigate future failures through DFMEA and robust hardware/software design.
Lead, develop and execute comprehensive test strategies (DVP&R), including planning, procuring, and operating test rigs and prototypes.
Ensure H&S compliance through risk assessments and ergonomic considerations.
Collaborate with hardware and mechanical teams on manufacturing data and SOPs.
Drive product improvement loops post-launch, including hands-on support, error logging, and in-person feedback gathering.
Act as a product SME, triaging and investigating issues from site engineers.
Monitor and analyze product performance, leading root cause analysis of failure modes and identifying KPI improvements.
Develop predictive reliability models and quantify the impact of design changes.
Utilise accelerated life testing to identify and mitigate design weaknesses.
