Senior MLOps Engineer

12 month contract

Daily Rate

Hybrid, based near Brussels

Montash is currently seeking a freelance Senior MLOps Engineer to work within a globally distributed engineering environment, supporting advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI initiatives by delivering robust, scalable, and production-ready infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Architect and develop cloud-native services that support machine learning models and large-scale data pipelines
Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business and technical requirements into reliable platform solutions
Build, deploy, and maintain infrastructure on AWS, leveraging Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes
Implement and automate end-to-end workflows for data ingestion, model training, deployment, and monitoring
Optimize systems for availability, performance, scalability, and cost control
Provide technical guidance and operational support to platform users, including onboarding and issue resolution
Drive continuous improvement of MLOps standards, tooling, and best practices

Skills & Experience

Advanced proficiency in Python and experience within data science or ML-focused environments
Strong background in cloud engineering, ideally within AWS-based ecosystems
Proven experience containerizing and orchestrating workloads using Docker and Kubernetes
Hands-on expertise with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform
Experience designing or maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
Practical exposure to big data processing frameworks, especially Apache Spark

Education

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience
