Job Specifications

City Destinations Alliance (CityDNA) is seeking an Interim Head of Relationship Marketing and Commercial Development (fixed-term, minimum 12 months) to ensure continuity and momentum during a key transition period. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role at the centre of a leading European network of city destination organisations and meetings industry professionals.

You will lead across two equally important mandates:

Member community leadership (≈120 DMOs): strengthen relationships, drive retention and engagement, and support alliance growth.
Commercial & income generation: protect and grow revenue through membership growth and commercial partner development (pipeline, proposals, renewals, partner servicing).

What you’ll do

Translate strategy into clear action plans, high-quality briefs, and structured follow-through across priorities.
Prepare and run governance cycles (Board / Executive Committee / General Assembly) with strong documentation and decision tracking.
Manage the Head Office team: prioritise, allocate work, coach, remove blockers, and ensure consistent quality delivery.
Oversee knowledge-sharing content aligned with CityDNA strategy (insights, toolkits, synthesis notes, learning moments).
Manage relationships with commercial partners and contribute to partnership growth and renewals.
Provide senior oversight for EU collaboration where relevant, including DEPLOYTOUR (LEAR / coordinator responsibilities) and BEFuture: representation, meeting follow-up, coordination of inputs and deliverables (with project support).
Provide senior guidance to ensure communications and marketing are aligned with strategy and stakeholder needs (delivery remains with the communications function).

What we’re looking for

A senior profile with strong governance discipline, excellent judgement, and proven ability to operate confidently with senior stakeholders while staying close to execution. You bring:

Proven experience in alliances/networks/associations or complex stakeholder ecosystems
Track record in commercial development (membership and/or partnerships/sponsorship)
Strength in managing large communities and relationships at scale
Strong writing/synthesis, structured execution, and team leadership
EU project/consortia experience is a plus

Location: Europe (hybrid), with extensive travel for key meetings and industry events, plus part of the time at CityDNA Head Office in Dijon (France).

How to apply:

Interested candidates are invited to submit their resume and a cover letter in English, detailing their relevant experience. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis in January. Start date: early February 2026.

Application deadline: January 25, 2026.
