Job Specifications

Machine Learning Engineer (Freelance) - 12 Months - Brussels

At RELYzIT Talent, we don’t recruit — we build. We unite the top 2% of builders — engineers, architects, creators — into a movement across Europe and the GCC. Vetted through our VECTOR7™ Signal Stack, you’re not just hired, you’re chosen. This is more than work. This is where builders build the future.

We are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer (Freelance) for a 12-month mission in Brussels, partnering with our client to architect and implement the next generation of employee virtual assistants. This is your opportunity to shape a high-impact solution, collaborating with elite teams and driving technical excellence from vision to production.

Why This Role Matters

Our client is on a mission to transform the employee experience through intelligent automation. As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will be instrumental in translating a bold vision into a robust, scalable technical roadmap. Your expertise will ensure seamless collaboration across teams, enabling parallel development and accelerating delivery. The stakes are high: your work will directly influence how AI services are designed, deployed, and monitored at scale, setting new standards for operational excellence and innovation.

What You’ll Be Doing

Structuring the technical vision for an employee virtual assistant into a clear, actionable implementation roadmap.
Defining and enforcing boundaries between Python micro-services to maximize team efficiency and parallel development.
Collaborating with Data Scientists to design solutions that meet production constraints, including infrastructure selection, data ingestion, and API design.
Automating ML pipelines for seamless integration and deployment, including Docker/VM image creation and comprehensive testing (unit, regression, integration).
Supporting Data Scientists in leveraging industrial CI/CD tools for building and monitoring AI services.
Partnering with IT Production to parameterize and optimize target environments.
Ensuring models run reliably in production, are retrained as needed (including automated retraining), and are monitored from both IT and business perspectives.
Championing best practices in code, model, and data versioning, and sharing knowledge across the chapter.
Facilitating communication between AI, Analytics, and IT teams to ensure robust deployment and monitoring of ML models.

What We’re Looking For

At least 6 years of relevant experience in Machine Learning Engineering or related fields.
Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Proven expertise in Python micro-services, containerization, and cloud computing services.
Hands-on experience with Swagger/schema definition, mocking, and testing frameworks.
Deep knowledge of AI platforms, IDEs, CI/CD pipelines, and relational databases.
Strong background in code, model, and data versioning.
Project coordination experience in complex, cross-functional environments.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written), with the ability to share knowledge and mentor peers.
Results-driven, detail-oriented, and rigorous in execution.
Creative, innovative, and proactive in problem-solving and continuous learning.
Constructive, open to feedback, and energized to deliver impactful results.
Awareness of efficiency and efficacy, with a drive to think beyond existing frameworks.
