Title: Finance Assistant (6-Month FTC)

Location: Watford (100% office based)

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 (pro rata) + bonus

4-days a week - 6-month contract

Our client, a well-established transportation and logistics group based in Watford, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join their finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified or early-career finance professional to gain hands-on experience within a fast-moving, operationally focused business.

Responsibilities:

Support the month-end close process, including posting journals and assisting with accruals and prepayments
Assist with the preparation of management accounts and supporting schedules
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring data integrity across finance systems
Support budgeting and forecasting processes with analysis and data preparation
Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes as required
Liaise with operational teams to resolve finance queries and improve information flow
Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support to the wider finance team

Role Requirements:

Studying towards an accounting qualification (AAT / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) or relevant practical experience
Previous experience in a finance assistant or accounts role
Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
Confident Excel skills and ability to work with large volumes of data
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with non-finance stakeholders
Proactive attitude with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
