Job Specifications

IT Business Analyst – Southampton – 3 Month Contract (37.5 hours per week) - £550 - £580 per day (Inside IR35) – SC Clearance desirable

Role Overview

The IT Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for transforming data into actionable insights to support strategic and operational decision-making. The role involves working closely with IT, business stakeholders, and leadership to analyse data, develop reports and dashboards, and improve data-driven performance across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Gather, analyse, and interpret data from multiple IT and business systems
Design, build, and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualisations (e.g. Excel, Power BI)
Support business transformation, operational excellence, and performance improvement initiatives
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into analytical solutions
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting outputs
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities and present insights clearly to non-technical audiences

Key Skills

Proven involvement in business transformation and operational excellence initiatives
Hands-on experience delivering supply chain improvement programmes
Background in a software-focused organisation is highly desirable
Prior exposure to defence or national security environments would be beneficial
Working knowledge of software products, IT services, licensing structures, and Software Asset Management (SAM)
Strong analytical capability, with advanced Excel skills essential and experience developing Power BI dashboards advantageous
Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to elicit insights from individuals and teams that may not be immediately apparent
Self-motivated professional with a demonstrated ability to operate effectively with minimal supervision

Please note that the client has determined that the off-payroll working rules will apply to this assignment and therefore this contract will be run through an Umbrella Company. Income tax and primary national insurance contributions will be deducted at source from any payments made to the intermediary.
