Senior Data Protection Officer

Governance & Compliance | Hybrid working | Inside IR35

We're supporting the recruitment of an experienced Senior Data Protection Officer to join a Governance & Compliance function within a public sector organisation in Gloucestershire.

This is a senior role with genuine professional accountability. You'll provide expert advice on complex data protection matters and be trusted to take strategic decisions that support lawful, ethical and proportionate use of data.

Key details

Rate: £32.28 per hour (umbrella) or £320 per day

IR35 status: Inside IR35

Hybrid working: typically 2 days per week in the office, with flexibility for the right candidate

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Working hours generally between 8am and 6pm, arranged to suit the individual

The role

Acting as a senior data protection specialist within the Governance Department

Being professionally accountable for strategic data protection decisions

Advising senior stakeholders on complex and sensitive data protection issues

Applying data protection legislation within a public sector context

Essential experience

Data Protection qualified

Proven experience in data protection, ideally within the public sector

Confidence operating at a senior level and exercising professional judgement

This role will suit a data protection professional who values strong governance, sound judgement and the opportunity to operate at a strategic level within a complex public sector environment.
