DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
Co-op and Internship opportunities allow you to gain valuable work experience across a number of the businesses at TD. You will work with experienced colleagues, receive world class training, and be part of a community of students across TD, where you will have an impact, grow as individual and experience our culture of care.
Role
Our Co-op/Intern Programming is offered with select Co-op and Internship roles and is designed to help you better understand the TD business, build on critical career capabilities, and broaden your professional network. This program is designed to complement your on-the job experience and features:
Leadership talks with key Leaders from across the organization
Lunch and Learns on topics such as Innovation
Diversity and Inclusion and Personal Branding and so much more
TD Model Validation (MV) group is responsible for the independent review/validation and approval of models. The Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) MV team is responsible for the validation of all AI/ML models such as Generative AI, Agentic AI, Deep Learning for Tabular Data, used across the Bank for various use cases.
Job Description
Validate (review, test, and provide effective challenge) AI/ML models, particularly Generative AI, including RAG and/or Agentic AI use cases.
Stay up to date with advancements in the field of Generative AI including major publications, important Large Language Models (LLMs), evaluation metrics, technology stacks, and datasets.
Communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Job Requirements

Currently enrolled in a Masters degree in computer science, machine learning, engineering, statistics, mathematics, or related field.
Must be enrolled in a Masters degree with the intent of going back to school at the start of your work term (requirement of all co-op/intern positions)
Experience with and strong knowledge of AI/ML methodologies including Generative AI, Agentic AI, Deep Learning, modern Natural Language Processing (NLP), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Transformers.
Experience with Deep Learning and Generative AI technology stacks and libraries such as PyTorch, Tensorflow/Keras, LangChain/LangGraph, HuggingFace, Azure Databricks, Azure MLFlow etc.
Proficient in programming languages such as Python
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The position requires writing clean technical reports.
Additional Information
This position is a 4-month work term and will commence May 4th – August 21st 2026.
