Terms of Employment:

• W2 Contract-to-Hire, Six Months

• This position is primarily remote. Candidates must be willing to work onsite in Reston, VA or Washington, DC once per month for all-hands meetings.

• The first two-to-three weeks will be day-shift (9am-5pm) training. Thereafter, this will be a permanent night shift – Monday – Friday, 11:00 PM – 8:00 AM.

Overview & Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Senior Java Engineer for a permanent night shift production support role with a leading healthcare services client. The ideal candidate is a strong back-end developer with a passion for troubleshooting and ensuring system stability. You will be responsible for fixing production issues during night hours and collaborating with the day-shift team. • Provide production support for enterprise Java/JEE applications during the night shift.

• Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve production issues in a timely manner.

• Collaborate with day-shift teams for knowledge transfer and issue handoff.

• Write efficient, clean, and reliable code for maintenance and fixes.

• Participate in a quarterly shift rotation that includes weekend support.

Required Qualifications:

• Must be available for a mandatory in-person interview in Reston, VA, or Washington, D.C.

• Must be willing and able to work a permanent night shift.

• 3-5 years of professional Java/JEE software development experience.

• Strong experience with the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Batch, Spring Security).

• Experience with RESTful and SOAP Web Services.

• Minimum 3 years of APIM experience.

• Experience with production support.

• Experience with frameworks like Hibernate or MyBatis.

• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, JQuery).

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS (Amazon Web Services) background is a significant plus.

• Experience with Spring Integration.

• Experience with Big Data platforms.

• Experience with security protocols (SSO, Oauth2).
