D365 Finance & Operations Developer

Windsor, UK (1 day per week onsite initially)

£425 per day (Inside IR35)

6-month contract (Extendable)

Our client, a top global organization, seeking an experienced D365 Finance & Operations Developer to support the design, development, and enhancement of cloud-based ERP solutions. This role focuses on delivering high-quality customisations and integrations across Billing, Payment Collection, and Finance domains within Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O.

Key Responsibilities

Analyse business requirements and design efficient, scalable solutions within D365 Finance & Operations.
Develop, customise, and extend D365 F&O using X++ and .NET technologies.
Deliver end-to-end development across the full application lifecycle, from design to deployment.
Enhance and extend internal D365 F&O frameworks and develop ISV solutions.
Integrate D365 F&O with external systems using custom web services, Dataverse, DMF, Power Platform, and Dual Write.
Champion best development practices and minimise unnecessary customisation through effective design.
Review technical architecture deliverables to ensure quality, traceability, and alignment with requirements.
Take technical ownership of new implementations delivered by the development team.
Identify and manage cross-area or cross-release impacts.
Collaborate closely with Solution Architects and stakeholders to validate solution designs.
Engage with Microsoft preview features and tools such as Dual Write and RSAT.
Produce clear technical documentation to support ongoing delivery and support.

Essential Skills & Experience

7–8 years of hands-on D365 Finance & Operations development experience.
Strong expertise in X++ development.
Solid SQL Server knowledge for querying, reporting, and data management.
Proven experience across full lifecycle ERP implementations.
Experience developing and extending D365 F&O frameworks and ISV solutions.
Strong experience with Azure DevOps (repos, pipelines, release automation).
Experience managing Azure infrastructure for cloud-hosted environments (users, security, subscriptions).
Proven integration experience with non-Microsoft and external systems.
Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
Comfortable working as an individual contributor in client-facing environments.

Desirable Experience

Exposure to the Energy sector.
Experience with multi-vendor delivery environments.
Strong business process mapping, modelling, and documentation skills.
