The Business Analyst at Online Education Services (OES) is responsible for gathering, analysing and translating business requirements into clear project documentation (mainly user stories) to support IT and project delivery.

The role acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring project goals are clearly understood and successfully delivered.

This is a hybrid role based in OES' Birmingham office 2-3 days per week, with the remainder working form your home.

The Business Analyst role at OES is a stakeholder-facing, project-focused position responsible for gathering business requirements, translating them into clear user stories, and ensuring project teams deliver solutions that meet organisational needs. It requires strong communication skills, Agile knowledge, stakeholder management capability, and at least two years of BA experience.

This role is a Fixed Term Contract of 12 months.

Requirements

The Business Analyst will:

Run workshops to gather business requirements
Write and manage user stories and maintain the backlog
Update requirements when business priorities change
Support project kick-offs
Coordinate and assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Work with vendors and external partners
Help assess external software/products

Student Operations

Externally, the role liaises with:

Vendors and service providers
Partner organisations

This shows the role is highly cross-functional and collaborative.

Skills & Experience Required

The successful candidate must have:

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience running requirements workshops
Understanding of Agile principles
Ability to work independently and in a team
At least 2 years' experience as a Business Analyst
Relevant tertiary qualifications or IT-related certifications

They must also be flexible, proactive and comfortable working under pressure.
