About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Configuration Management leader to own and evolve our ServiceNow CMDB. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain CMDB population and reconciliation processes using the ServiceNow Common Service Data Model (CSDM), Discovery, and Service Mapping. You’ll work within the IT Service Management (ITSM) team to ensure CMDB integrity, support key ITSM processes, and align solutions with broader enterprise architecture and service strategies.

What You’ll Do

Manage and optimize the ServiceNow CMDB using CSDM, Discovery, and Service Mapping for internally developed and externally sourced applications.
Define CI classes, attributes, governance standards, and data collection requirements to support ITSM and business objectives.
Translate architectural designs into CMDB representations, including CI relationships and infrastructure topology mapping.
Monitor CMDB health, resolve data source conflicts, and ensure alignment with portfolio management data.
Lead maturity improvements for CMDB and Configuration Management processes; document functional requirements.
Provide governance, conduct periodic gap and maturity assessments, and support internal/external audits.
Produce KPI/KRI reporting for operational and leadership stakeholders.
Collaborate across teams to ensure CMDB accuracy, adherence to standards, and alignment with organizational strategy.

Qualifications

10+ years of Configuration Management and CMDB experience.
10+ years working with ITSM processes and tools (ServiceNow required).
Proven experience maturing CMDB and Configuration Management through phased maturity models.
Deep understanding of ITIL processes (Configuration, Discovery, Asset, Change, Release, Incident, Problem, Event Management).
Ability to drive cross-functional process improvements and deliver customer‑focused outcomes.
Strong communication, analytical, and documentation skills.

Technical Skills

Advanced ServiceNow CMDB/CMS data model expertise.
Knowledge of ITIL, COBIT 5, and service/configuration management frameworks.
Broad familiarity with applications, infrastructure (network, servers, containers, storage, mainframe), databases, and scripting concepts.
Strong Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.

Education & Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
ITIL Foundation (or higher) certification required.
10+ years of ITSM or workflow development experience.

Salary: ~$175-$200k
