DLP Consultant (6‑Month Contract)
Location: Hybrid, 3x per week on-site in Etobicoke, ON • Industry: Payments • Team: Security Operations
A leading payments organization is seeking a DLP Consultant to join their Security Operations team on a 6‑month contract. In this role, you will play a critical part in protecting sensitive data across a complex enterprise environment by monitoring, analyzing, and responding to DLP alerts and events.
What You’ll Do
Monitor, investigate, and respond to DLP alerts to prevent data leakage and unauthorized access
Analyze incidents and provide recommendations to improve data protection
Collaborate with security stakeholders to refine DLP policies and controls
Document findings, incident details, and process improvements
Leverage Microsoft Purview (formerly AIP), MS Defender, and other enterprise security tools
Support data classification, encryption, and secure handling initiatives across endpoints, email, and cloud environments
Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of hands-on Cyber Security & DLP experience within medium–large enterprises
Strong experience with DLP platforms such as Microsoft Purview, Symantec DLP, Forcepoint, or Digital Guardian
Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, PCI, etc.)
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
Solid understanding of data classification, encryption, and secure data transfer
Confidence working independently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or equivalent experience
Compensation:
$30/hr to $45/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as short-term and long-term disability, life insurance and AD&D.
