New Exciting Opportunity for Azure Developer
Location: Wokingham (Office-Based – 5 Days Onsite)
Contract Duration: 6 Months
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Azure Developer to design and deliver secure, scalable, and cost-optimized serverless solutions on Microsoft Azure. The role focuses on Python-based Azure Functions, Azure Data Factory pipelines, Azure SQL Database, and Blob Storage, with strong integration capabilities across REST/SOAP APIs.
You will collaborate closely with product, data, and platform teams to deliver high-quality cloud-native solutions aligned with Azure best practices, DevOps standards, and enterprise security requirements.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
Programming: Python (asyncio, requests, pandas basics), pytest/unittest
Azure Services: Azure Functions, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Blob Storage, Key Vault
Integration: REST (OAuth2, JWT), SOAP (WSDL), webhooks, idempotency patterns
DevOps: Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, environment promotion strategies
Observability: Application Insights (logs, metrics, Kusto queries), dashboards, alert rules
Automation Tools: python-docx for document generation
Methodologies: SDLC, Agile/Scrum, code reviews, documentation standards
Essential Experience (Must-Have)
Delivered at least two end-to-end production solutions using Azure Functions (Python)
Built ADF pipelines integrating multiple sources and targets (REST, SQL, Blob Storage)
Implemented Application Insights with actionable dashboards and alerting
Managed secrets using Azure Key Vault and implemented managed identity authentication
Desirable / Nice-to-Have
Azure Storage Queues, Event Grid, Event Hub
Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, ARM, Terraform)
Docker and Azure Container Apps / AKS exposure
Advanced data modelling and performance tuning in Azure SQL
Exposure to Azure Synapse
Network security, private endpoints, Defender for Cloud
Azure cost optimization and monitoring tools
