Duration: 12 months contract (Hybrid/Local) with potential conversion to hire

Job Description

This person will be a member of an ongoing project that is modifying an on-prem vendor application to include additional functionality requested by the business.

Primary Job Duties

Deep understanding of the development cycle.
Design and build complex software solutions.
Translate complex ideas into user stories, workable solutions, estimates, and smaller components.
Assist product owners and business users with questions.
Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.
Utilize appropriate Human Performance tools, especially during testing and implementation.
Transfer knowledge of technologies built to less-skilled support teams.
Assist with testing and migrating code through test regions.
Ensure adherence to design, coding, and source control standards.
Lead design and code walk-throughs as presenter or reviewer.
Present complex technical information in an understandable manner (oral and written).
Exhibit maturity, confidence, and assertiveness when needed.
Handle stress and frustration effectively, absorb change, and continue with positive results.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
5+ years’ experience with application development and support.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with business partners, IT resources, managed service providers, and management.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work on multiple user stories concurrently and prioritize tasks.
Experience working within an application solution delivery life cycle.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with modern source code management tools and processes.
Experience working with remote teams.
Interface and application integration experience.

Technical Skills (in order of importance)

C# and SQL: Solid understanding required.
WPF: Experience with Windows Presentation Foundation for UI development.
API Development: Strong experience with REST and SOAP APIs.
Kafka: Familiarity desirable for data processing and messaging.
Windows Services: Experience developing Windows services is key.
