Senior OT Infrastructure Engineer (Freelance – 12 Months)

Location: Wallonia region, Belgium

Contract Type: Freelance (12 months)

Start Date: ASAP

On-site Requirement: 2 days per week

Overview

We are supporting a large industrial manufacturing organization in the Wallonia region in the search for a Senior OT Infrastructure Engineer.

This role requires a hands-on senior profile (minimum 5+ years of relevant experience) with strong expertise in Operational Technology (OT), VMware virtualization, and Windows environments. The consultant will operate in a complex production environment where IT and OT systems interact closely.

Key Responsibilities

Support and maintain OT infrastructure within an industrial/manufacturing environment
Manage and optimize Windows Server environments (configuration, performance, lifecycle management)
Administer and support VMware virtualized infrastructure (ESXi / vSphere)
Ensure stability, performance, and security of production-related systems
Contribute to network segmentation and firewall-related initiatives within OT environments
Collaborate with automation, engineering, and IT teams
Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Experience & Skills

Minimum 5+ years of experience in infrastructure roles within industrial or OT environments
Strong expertise in:
Operational Technology (OT) environments
VMware (ESXi, vSphere)
Microsoft Windows Server ecosystems
Good understanding of networking principles, firewalling, and segmentation
Experience working in complex manufacturing or production environments
Strong analytical and diagnostic skills
Structured, proactive, and able to work autonomously
Comfortable collaborating in cross-functional teams

Language Requirements

French: Fluent (mandatory)
English: Fluent (mandatory, written and spoken)
