UK IT Lead - Based Heathrow

Our client is a leading global logistics provider seeking a UK Technology Lead to partner with the UK business and drive local execution of global technology strategy.

The Role

As the senior technology lead for the UK, you will act as the primary point of contact for all areas of technology, ensuring the business receives high‑quality support across applications, infrastructure, data, digital platforms and cybersecurity. You will have responsibility for a small UK team.

You will translate global strategy into local delivery, manage a small in‑house team plus external suppliers, and enable technology that improves operational performance across a 24/7 environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead technology enablement for the UK, ensuring alignment with global standards.
Partner with business leaders to translate local priorities into actionable technology initiatives.
Lead and develop a UK technology team while overseeing vendor performance.
Drive adoption of digital, automation and data‑driven solutions.
Oversee day‑to‑day service delivery and manage escalations for business‑critical systems.
Ensure compliance with global governance, policies and regulatory requirements.
Lead local projects including application rollout and infrastructure upgrades.
Optimise the local technology budget and identify continuous improvement opportunities.

Key Requirements

Demonstrable experience in technology leadership roles.
Strong track record partnering with senior business stakeholders.
Experience delivering digital, data or automation initiatives.
Background in global organisations; supply chain/logistics or similar exposure preferred.
Knowledge of ITIL, Agile, DevOps, architecture and technology lifecycle management.
Ability to translate business needs into technology solutions.
Service‑orientated, collaborative, highly organised and resilient.
Heathrow based with occasional travel.
