Supply Chain Manager - Hertfordshire
Help power the rollout of a growing parcel locker network across the UK.
We are supporting a high-growth business that’s changing the way parcels are delivered and collected, bringing smart lockers to busy locations nationwide. As they expand, they’re looking for someone to lead supply chain, logistics and operations.
We are seeking a strategic, hands-on leader to head the supply chain function on behalf of our client. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing stock flows, overseeing inbound logistics, and ensuring that suppliers and warehouses operate at peak performance. This is a pivotal role, working closely with internal teams and external partners to support business growth and operational delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing - Supply Chain Manager
Lead the Supply Chain function (Head of Department) for a fast-growing parcel locker business, owning operational excellence across stock management and planning, inbound ocean freight & customs, and supplier/3PL & warehouse performance. You’ll work cross-functionally with Installations and Maintenance to ensure the right kit and parts are available on time, every time.
Oversee stock management, allocations, and all inbound/outbound flows
Maintain accurate stock records and complete related administrative tasks
Forecast stock needs in line with business growth and project timelines
Collaborate with group supply chain on purchasing and replenishment
Manage container transport, ocean freight scheduling, and shipment bookings
Oversee inbound container arrivals, unloading, and stock reconciliation
Handle UK customs clearance end-to-end, including Incoterms selection, HS classification, valuation & duty/VAT management, and broker engagement, ensuring compliant and timely entry.
Manage third-party warehouse operators to meet performance and quality standards
Implement and maintain processes for external contractors
Oversee stock intake, ensuring correct volumes, quality, and documentation
Support Installations Team with stock preparation and handovers to transport providers
Supply Maintenance Team with required parts and stock
Support internal warehouse operations and drive process improvements
Own and improve KPIs: customs cycle time, storage costs, inventory accuracy, dock-to-stock time, stockouts, and inventory turns.
Key Skills & Experience
Experience in supply chain, logistics, or inventory management
Strong understanding of ocean freight, container logistics, and UK customs clearance
Experience managing 3PL/warehouse partners
Highly organised, with strong communication and coordination skills
Proactive, detail-focused, and able to resolve issues quickly
Proficiency with ERP/WMS/TMS (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics 365, Kerridge (K8) and building operational dashboards in Power BI/Excel.
Experience supporting installations or maintenance teams
Previous work in a fast-growing or scaling business
The Details
Salary: £50,000 to £70,000 - dependant on experience
Starting remote but moving to hybrid - Hertfordshire
