About The Program
The NCIA internship is a 6-month program based at one of our key hubs in The Netherlands, Belgium or Portugal. Our internship opportunities start from either 1 March or 1 September with the start date being dependent on the timeline to secure the required security clearance to work within the NATO community. During an internship, you will join and support a diverse international team and simultaneously learn from our experts via on-the-job training, working independently on purposeful projects or initiatives during your tenure.
About The Internship
Internship duration: 6 months
Location: Brussels, Belgium
Executive Management (EM) leads cross-Agency activities to ensure that the General Manager’s (GM) and Chief of Staff’s (COS) direction and guidance is implemented in line with their intent. EM leads the Agency Executive Management Board and the key relationship with NATO governance with the NCI Agency Strategic Plan being developed and overseen by the team. EM is also responsible for the proactive planning, management and prioritisation of critical Agency wide investments and risks and coordination of internal and external engagements with stakeholders, senior committees and boards. EM also guides Agency communications, externally and internally with staff.
This internship supports internal and external communication activities across NCIA, contributing to written content, digital communications, stakeholder coordination, and performance analytics. Responsibilities include drafting and editing content for communication channels such as social media; tracking events, project deliverables, and communication opportunities; and assisting in the implementation of communication strategies and initiatives. You will provide administrative support to the Communications Manager, liaise with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities, and collect and analyze digital communication data for evaluation and reporting. Additional duties include maintaining calendars and appointments. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, creativity, multitasking ability, and understanding of social media platforms are essential, while design and editing skills are considered an asset.

Marketing : Collects and monitors results of marketing activities. Assists in market research and data collection providing summary reports of their findings. Understands the basic principles of marketing, and tools used by the organisation for planning, implementing and monitoring marketing activities.
Research : Within given research goals, assists in selection and review of credible and reliable resources. Searches for relevant material using specialised websites and sources, reads relevant articles to update knowledge of the relevant field. Reports on work carried out and may contribute sections of publication-quality material. Curates, under guidance, a personal collection of relevant material.
