We are seeking an experienced Lead .NET Developer to join a growing engineering team delivering ongoing development and modernisation of a complex monolithic platform. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a senior developer who thrives in stabilising legacy systems while driving forward cloud-native transformation.

The team is currently migrating workloads to AWS and transitioning the frontend from AngularJS to StencilJS web components. You will play a key role in enhancing, modernising, and future-proofing the existing platform while supporting the development of new distributed services.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality backend development using C#, .NET Framework, and .NET Core.
Lead efforts to decompose and migrate legacy monolithic components into AWS-based services.
Contribute to a message-driven architecture leveraging RabbitMQ, Amazon SQS, and AWS Lambda.
Support platform enhancements, bug resolution, and development of new features across multiple modules.
Collaborate closely with frontend engineers during the transition from AngularJS to StencilJS.
Work within a custom metadata-driven system powering dynamic data sources, business rules, and form generation.
Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with onshore (Bristol-based) and offshore engineering teams.
Follow established CI/CD workflows using Bitbucket, Jenkins, AWS CLI abstractions, and Kubernetes.
Champion best practices in unit testing, code quality, maintainability, and engineering standards.

Required Experience & Skills

Extensive experience in C#, .NET Framework, and .NET Core development.
Proven experience working with complex monolithic systems and driving modernisation initiatives.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-native architecture.
Experience implementing message-based/distributed systems.
Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and containerised deployments.
Experience working in Agile environments with distributed teams.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to balance short-term stability and long-term architectural improvements.
