Business Intelligence Specialist

Responsibilities:

Lead the report conversion activities from BOEXI to Power BI reports estimated up to 900 for 2025-26 fiscal year
Supports Client’s wide-ranging business information requirements, implementing and supporting business intelligence software solutions
Develops and supports customized query applications which analyze key business data
Develops and supports guided analysis and drill-down functionality, routine scheduling and notification of report generation, and effective implementation of “opportunity” and “key-trend” alerts
Provides Clients with approach options and tools for managing business-related data in a manner that assists in quantitative analysis of progress and the relationship between operational actions and their effect on business objectives
Conduct workshops and requirements-gathering sessions with clients on BI & Data Analytics Initiative
Conduct data integration, data cleansing, data modeling and analytics
Develop feedback processes to fix corrupt data in the source systems

Responsibilities

• Lead the report conversion activities from BOEXI to Power BI reports estimated up to 100 for 2026-27 fiscal year

• Lead client-facing workshops, requirement sessions (e.g., Key Performance Indicators, success criteria, report design, and solution design reviews) to ensure clarity, alignment, and successful BI delivery

• Provide clients with technical and strategic options for managing business-related data to improve quantitative analysis, operational understanding, and measurement of business objectives

• Develop and support customized query applications that analyze key business data and drive actionable insights

• Architect, design, and deliver high-impact, user‑centric dashboards, operational reports, and analytical applications primarily in Power BI or other BI platforms (e.g., Amazon Quicksight, Tableau, etc.) while meeting Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)

• Build advanced analytical functionality, including guided analysis, drill-down/drill-through experiences, routine scheduling, automated notifications, and “opportunity” and “key-trend” alerts

• Provide clients with approach options and tools for managing business-related data in a manner that assists in quantitative analysis of progress and the relationship between operational actions and their effect on business objectives

• Conduct data integration, data cleansing, data modeling, and analytics activities in partnership with data engineering teams

• Create and maintain enterprise semantic models, certified datasets, and reusable reporting assets for scalable consumption

• Design and refine analytic data structures—including dimensional models, curated datasets, and Lakehouse/Warehouse layers—to support reporting performance and reliability

• Develop and maintain feedback loops and corrective processes to identify, surface, and remediate corrupt or inconsistent data

• Lead end‑to‑end performance optimization efforts across data models, dataset refreshes, data pipelines, queries, and visual layers

• Diagnose complex performance bottlenecks and implement advanced optimization techniques (aggregation strategies, partitioning, query tuning, semantic model refinement)

• Establish enterprise performance standards, best practices, and measurement baselines

• Lead major BI modernization initiatives, including the migration of legacy BI assets (e.g., SAP Business Object, Cognos, etc.) to modern cloud BI solutions such as Power BI

• Redesign legacy business logic into optimized, governed semantic layers using current architectures (Fabric, Azure, AWS, Databricks)

• Create migration frameworks, mapping templates, transformation documentation, and validation processes—including structured data parity testing

• Drive standardization across KPI definitions, metadata documentation, naming conventions, and BI lifecycle processes

• Implement monitoring, usage governance, security best practices, and documentation across BI platforms.

General Skills

• Experience with major business intelligence platforms, including:

o Expert‑level in Power BI (advanced DAX, Direct Lake, semantic modeling, incremental refresh)

o SAP BusinessObjects (SAP BO) such as providing operational support to existing Crystal Reports

• Skilled in designing KPI scorecards, trend visualizations, operational dashboards, and drill‑down analytical applications

• Experience developing scheduled, ad‑hoc, and alert‑driven reports across multiple BI platforms

• Expert‑level SQL skills, including performance tuning and execution plan analysis

• Experience analyzing source system data for:

o Missing/null values

o Duplicate meanings

o Invalid values

o Data completeness and consistency issues

• Experience developing feedback loops and remediation processes to fix corrupt data

• Hands‑on experience developing:

o Data extraction, transformation, and load programs
