Job Description

Site: Toronto General Hospital
Department: Transplant Outpatient Pharmacy (with possibility of cross coverage at Toronto General Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy and Clinic Pharmacy)
Reports to: Manager
Wage Range: $30.49
Hours: 37.5 Hours per Week
Status: Temporary Full-Time (Up to12 Months Contract)
Closing Date: March 5, 2026
Duties
As an integral member of the Pharmacy Services Inpatient/Outpatient Operations Team, the Pharmacy Technician Intern is responsible for:
Performing all technical aspects of prescription preparation including compounding (as per master worksheets) and dispensing responsibilities, as assigned
Replenishing stock medication supplies for assigned areas
Ensuring patient information is updated and maintained in the pharmacy information systems
Completing all required reports and documentation
Attending, participating in staff and patient training/educational functions within scope of practice
Performing workload measurement support functions; performing pharmacy purchasing and/or receiving related activities
Participation in inventory count and performing cross-functional and/other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested.
Pharmacy Technician Interns must always practice under the supervision of a Part A pharmacist or a Part A pharmacy technician
Qualifications
Completion of a two-year community college Pharmacy Technician Program or recognized equivalent required.
Registration as an Intern Technician in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists required
Membership with the Canadian Association of Pharmacy Technicians (CAPT) preferred.
Ability to work variable shifts.
Standing and walking for several hours at a time.
Light lifting of boxes
Sitting and repetitive hand motions for several hours at a time (e.g. sterile compounding).
Accurate hand/eye coordination of fine movements (e.g., data entry, preparing/dispensing medications, preparation of IV products).
