The Industrial Engineer EMEA will be a key member of the Henry Schein Distribution Engineering supporting EMEA and potentially Global Operations. He/she will act as project manager for all levels of complexity projects in support of distribution operations facilities and/or process improvement projects. 35 – 45 % average travel (60% peak travel) may be required at times and will vary depending on project load and location.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluates warehouse processes and material handling methods for process improvements
Improves distribution center productivity and reduces costs.
Supports and manages the design and engineering efforts for all material storage and handling equipment including:
Establishes engineering based equipment requirements and bid specifications, evaluates and selects suppliers, project alternatives.
Develops CAD drawings in AutoCAD including conceptual and detailed layouts.
Analyzes operational data to assist in resolving issues utilizing MS Access, Excel, and COGNOS.
Develops project scopes, specifications and estimates as needed. Manages diverse projects and project teams in the development and execution of single or multiple projects. Performs analyses of completed and ongoing project spending – reviews spending for past projects, forecasts, and develops budget for future projects.
Coordinates activities across operations, engineering, information systems, and the entire organization, as needed.
Defines activities, sequences of events, dependencies, duration of tasks required to complete the project.
Assess and manages project risks including engineering, technical, financial, or business factors facing the project.
Communicates project status and issues.
Performs time studies as required and stablishes time-studied standards.
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum of 5+ years experience in Industrial Engineering in a distribution environment with project management experience, or the equivalent required.
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Access (and database functions), MS Excel, MS Project. Knowledge of COGNOS and LEAN Engineering knowledge is desirable.
Excellent independent decision making, analysis and problem solving skills
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with a strong ability to present and create interpersonal interactions
Project management, consultative skills and ability to manage a budget
Specialist in multiple technical and/or business skills
Ability to cultivate and develop lasting internal and external customer relations across different levels
