IT Field Engineer - EDBS
Inside IR35 | Start ASAP | 2 months initially | Driving Licence Mandatory
We're looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our customer on an initial 2/3 month engagement. This opportunity will be covering North London, Hertfordshire and surroundings; so, you will be required to drive and have your own form of transport.
Technically this will be diverse role, covering Support, Migrations and Breakfix; typically, you'd be responsible for:
Install, configure, and commission Microsoft-based IT solutions and associated network infrastructure at customer sites, acting as the primary on-site engineer for delivery.
Install and configure server hardware (Dell, HPE etc.), including firmware, RAID & OS.
Providing Microsoft based tech support and guidance to customers onsite (M365, AD etc.)
Assist with ongoing Migrations from M365 to Google workspace and other technologies.
Build, upgrade, and migrate Windows Server environments (2012-2025), including Active Directory, Group Policy, file and print services.
Infrastructure upgrades, server replacements, and customer migrations, following agreed project plans and escalating risk where appropriate.
Support client relocations, upgrades, and change requests.
Have good knowledge of AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy (inc. printer deployment)
Knowledge and ability to support Hyper-V and ESXi, including management management.
Solid Firewall experience, ideally Sonicwall, Watchguard, Fortinet, Draytek
Knowledge of enterprise grade server hardware from Dell, HPE or similar.
Strong experience with Windows client OS, M365 admin and setup (Exchange Online, OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, MFA, SSO)
Understanding of IP Networking, VLANs, wireless deployments
Advantageous if you have a working knowledge of VoIP/UC platforms.
