Senior Business Analyst

Location: London - Hybrid - 3 days per week onsite

Start day: ASAP

Contractor rate: £440 per day inside IR35

Duration: Until December 15th 2026, initially

Role Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst / Product Owner to join the AFCC Technology team within the Anti‑Financial Crime function. You’ll act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, supporting the end‑to‑end delivery of AFC initiatives using technologies such as Java, Angular, Spring Boot, Microservices, Spark, Camel, Docker, Sonar, and Bitbucket.

You will contribute throughout the software delivery lifecycle—scoping, analysis, requirements, testing, and validation—while managing backlogs, prioritisation, and production issues. AML/KYC experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Gather and define business requirements and obtain stakeholder sign‑off.
Apply strong investment banking and regulated‑environment experience.
Create product delivery roadmaps and assess system/data flows.
Provide functional expertise and respond to product queries.
Conduct requirement walkthroughs with key stakeholders.
Collaborate with Technology, Operations, Change, and Architecture teams.
Support testing and RTB teams with data‑related activities.
Work effectively within Agile teams and ceremonies.
Manage and prioritise the product backlog.

Skills & Experience

10+ years in banking/financial services within regulated environments.
8+ years as a Senior BA/Product Owner, ideally in AML/KYC.
Experience in scaled Agile environments and PO responsibilities.
Strong understanding of IT system landscapes and investment banking processes.
Excellent analytical and business/functional analysis skills.
PO certifications desirable (PSPO, CSPO, SAFe).
Strong SQL, Excel, and Access data analysis skills.
Proficient with JIRA, Confluence, and similar tools.
