Business Analyst – Charles River / IBOR (12-Month FTC)

My client, a leading UK asset owner and pension investment manager, is looking to hire a Business Analyst to support a major transformation programme within their Pension Investment Management business unit.

The Business Analyst will join a large-scale operating model transformation programme, working alongside a programme leadership team consisting of a Programme Director, Programme Manager, Project Managers, and Business Analysts. The programme is focused on enhancing front office investment processes, operating model design, and systems integration across the investment platform.

A core requirement for this role is hands-on experience with Charles River (CRD/CRIMS) and strong understanding of IBOR environments, alongside investment operations and front office workflows.

The Business Analyst will be expected to:

Support a major investment operating model transformation programme, contributing to front office and investment platform improvements.
Lead current state analysis, gap assessments, and target operating model design across investment processes.
Define and document business requirements, workflows, and functional specifications.
Work closely with Portfolio Managers, Trading desks, and Investment Operations teams to understand and improve workflows.
Support Charles River Investment Management System (CRIMS) implementation and configuration activities, ensuring alignment with front office and operational processes.
Analyse and map trade lifecycle processes including order generation, execution, settlement, and downstream reporting.
Contribute to enterprise process reviews, testing phases, and implementation support.
Support integration activities, data impacts, and change management across the programme lifecycle.
Assist with end-user training and knowledge uplift across investment teams.

The successful Business Analyst will possess:

Strong hands-on experience with Charles River Investment Management System (CRIMS/CRD).
Direct experience working with IBOR environments and understanding of investment accounting and operational data flows.
Strong understanding of investment and trade lifecycle processes across asset classes such as equities, ETFs, funds, fixed income, and OTC instruments.
Experience working with front office systems and trading workflows, including dealing applications and FIX connectivity.
Proven business analysis experience within investment management or asset management environments.
Experience conducting business process analysis, operating model design, and requirements gathering.
Ability to work closely with Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Investment Operations teams.
Strong analytical skills with Excel and SQL proficiency.
Experience supporting system implementation or configuration within low/no-code platforms.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into system solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a major investment transformation programme within a leading institutional investment organisation, working closely with front office stakeholders and playing a key role in shaping the future investment operating model and technology landscape.
