Position: Mid–Senior Java Software Engineer

Location: Islandia, NY (2–3 Days Onsite)

Job Type: Contract

Note: Final interview will be In-Person at the client location in Islandia, NY.

Local candidates only – must be within commuting distance.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Mid–Senior Java Software Engineer with 4–8 years of experience to design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based enterprise applications. The role involves working closely with Product, DevOps, and Architecture teams in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain Java (8+) applications using Spring Boot / Spring Framework
Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices
Work with SQL databases and Git
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in code reviews & solution design
Optimize performance, reliability, and security
Integrate internal/external systems
Troubleshoot production issues (rotating support)
Contribute to development best practices and continuous improvement

Required Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
4–8 years of Java development experience
Strong experience with Java 8+, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data
Experience with SQL databases
Knowledge of REST APIs and Microservices Architecture
Experience with Git and Agile/Scrum
Strong problem-solving and independent working ability

Nice to Have:

Docker, Kubernetes
CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions
React or Angular
Kafka or RabbitMQ
