Stockport (Hybrid 2–3 days)

£60-80,000 – Multiple positions

If you’re a senior backend engineer who wants proper ownership, real product complexity and equity that actually means something — this is worth a look.

It’s an engineering-led business building software that runs in live operational environments. The systems are used daily, relied upon heavily, and can’t just “mostly work”. You’ll be trusted to design, build and improve services that matter — without layers of politics or unnecessary process.

What you’ll be doing

Designing and building C# / .NET backend services
Owning features from idea → build → deploy → support
Working with REST APIs (some legacy SOAP in places)
Improving reliability, performance and observability
Supporting live systems when required
Mentoring engineers and influencing engineering standards

This isn’t a pure greenfield fantasy role.

It’s real systems, real users, real accountability.

What they’re looking for

Strong commercial experience with C# / .NET
Solid Azure knowledge (hosting, deployments, architecture basics)
Comfortable with SQL Server and ideally MongoDB
Experience supporting production systems
An automation-first testing mindset
Calm, pragmatic decision making

You don’t need to be an ivory-tower architect.

You do need to understand how software behaves in production.
