LeverageTek is actively seeking a Project Portfolio Analyst for a 3-month contract with it's Ottawa based customer.
Work Location
The successful candidate will be required to work 1x/week at the customer headquarters in Ottawa, ON
Key Tasks
Facilitate and support the delivery and governance of the organization’s Project Management Framework (PMF), ensuring consistent project portfolio management practices.
Assist with the preparation of project artifacts such as business cases, change requests, and documentation for new project initiatives.
Present project documentation and updates to Senior Management Committee (SMC) and IT Steering Committee (ITSC) to support project approvals and decision-making.
Monitor and report on project portfolio performance, including tracking KPIs, project progress, risks, and compliance with the PMF.
Manage and maintain the project portfolio resource capacity tool, ensuring accurate tracking of project resourcing needs.
Facilitate project intake, ideation, and prioritization processes, helping evaluate, balance, and align projects with organizational strategic objectives.
Support continuous improvement of PMO processes and governance, including auditing the PMF and recommending best practices for project planning, delivery, and monitoring.
Key Qualifications
Project portfolio / PMO framework experience – Hands-on experience supporting or maintaining project management frameworks, project portfolio tracking, and PMO processes.
Strong analytical and systems thinking skills – Ability to review existing processes, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to project management systems and workflows.
IT project environment exposure – 2–3 years of experience working in an IT analyst, project analyst, or PMO support role within a technology or corporate services environment.
Other Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of IT experience in one or more of the following roles: Software Developer, Systems Analyst, Software Integrator, Team Lead, Solutions Architect.
Proven experience supporting the change management process including participating in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings
Experience driving project execution, tracking milestones, and meeting deadlines
Experience coordinating release deployments and managing production risk and rollback planning
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to push back and reprioritize when necessary
Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments
Familiarity with application integrations (APIs), server environments, and system upgrades
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in business, technology, or a related discipline.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across multiple departments.
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills to support project governance and reporting.
Experience supporting project planning, tracking, and reporting activities within a PMO or project environment.
Assets:
Experience working with a Quality Management System (QMS) or document management system.
Knowledge of standards, regulations, and auditing techniques related to project governance.
Bilingual proficiency in English and French (EN/FR).
