Sr.Data Consultant- Fintech
Location: Toronto, ON, Hybrid, 2 days on-site
Language: Strong written and verbal communication in English
Duration: 6-month contract, possibility for extension or conversion
Rate: $60 to $65 per hour INC, or $50 to $55 per hour T4
Background Check Requirement: Criminal background check may be required
About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading technology platform supporting digital automotive transactions, is building a new analytics capability within its fintech operations. This Senior Data Consultant will play a key role in establishing the analytical foundation needed to better understand financial workflows, platform performance, and risk patterns across multiple systems.
Working closely with product, technology, and operational teams, you will help bring structure and clarity to complex financial and transactional datasets. The role focuses on analyzing and reconciling data across two recently integrated platforms, helping define how key metrics are structured and reported as the analytics capability continues to evolve.

Your Responsibilities
• You’ll analyze financial and transactional datasets across two integrated platforms to identify trends, risks, and operational insights
• In this role, you’ll write and maintain SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze large datasets
• You’ll help establish foundational analytical frameworks and KPI definitions to support consistent reporting across platforms
• You’ll collaborate with product and technology teams to translate complex data into actionable insights
• You’ll contribute to reporting views and dashboards that support data-informed product and operational decisions
Skills and Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in data analytics, ideally within fintech, financial services, payments, lending, or platform-based environments
• Strong SQL skills with experience querying and analyzing large datasets
• Experience working with financial or transactional data such as lending, payments, or risk-related datasets
• Familiarity with BI and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
• Ability to work independently in evolving environments where analytics structures are still being developed
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate analytical insights for non-technical stakeholders
