Macy’s is proudly America’s Department Store. For more than 160 years, Macy’s has

served generations at every stage of their lives. Customers come to us for fashion,

value and celebration. Now is an exciting time to join Macy’s, Inc. The face of retail is

changing, and change requires innovation.

Macy's is the largest NYC based digital retailer and has driven more than ten

consecutive years of double-digit growth. We’re building a new type of customer-centric

shopping experience - at the intersection of content, commerce, and technology - to

help customers find and buy products they love.

Job Overview

As an Analyst on the Digital Analytics team, you will be the technical engine driving Macy’s data-driven culture. You will be responsible for the "hands-on" development of data pipelines and dashboards that power daily operations. You will spend your time mapping data dependencies, writing sophisticated queries, and building the visualization tools that business analysts and department heads rely on to manage

the digital organization.

What You Will Do

As a Business Intelligence & Digital Analytics expert, you will be instrumental in

fostering data democratization and analytics-led decision making into the Digital

Business. You Will

Build & Maintain Dashboards: Design and iterate on scalable, user-friendly dashboards (Tableau/Power BI) that provide real-time visibility into digital performance.
Data Pipeline Development: Write and optimize SQL queries to extract data from various databases, ensuring that analytics frameworks are robust and data is accurate.
Map Data Dependencies: Research and document how data flows between various internal systems and third-party tools (like Adobe Analytics) to ensure reporting consistency.
Metric Operationalization: Work with business teams to translate a business question into a technical logic and then into a production-ready report.
Troubleshooting & QA: Monitor data integrity across reporting suites, identifying and resolving discrepancies in data pipelines or visualization layers.
Data Literacy Training: Support business users in navigating new tools and dashboards, helping the organization transition toward more self-service analytics.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Serve as a bridge between analytics, engineering, product, and business teams to ensure data solutions meet strategic needs and drive actionable insights.

Skills You Will Need

Technical Proficiency: Strong command of SQL and experience working with large-scale data warehouses for querying, transforming, and validating data across multiple sources and environments.
Dashboard Development & Data Visualization: Proficiency in building intuitive, scalable dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Adobe Analytics, and Excel, tailored to both executive and analytical audiences.
Analytical Mindset: Ability to trace a data point from a front-end dashboard back to its source database to understand its underlying logic.
Detail Oriented: Extreme focus on data accuracy and the ability to validate complex datasets across multiple platforms.
Curiosity & Continuous Improvement: Comfortable working closely with BI engineers to suggest table structures that make reporting more efficient.

Who You Are

3+ years of experience analyzing data and building comprehensive dashboards in an enterprise setting.
Passionate about building scalable, user-centric solutions that empower teams, from executives to analysts, to make smarter, faster decisions.
Comfortable navigating both the technical and business sides of analytics, with the ability to translate complex data concepts into clear, actionable insights.
A strong communicator and collaborator who enjoys working cross-functionally with engineers, product managers, procurement teams, and business stakeholders.
Curious and proactive, always seeking out new tools, technologies, and methods to improve data accessibility and decision-making.
Detail-oriented and organized, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for the tools and metrics you build.
Experienced in tools like Tableau, Power BI, SQL, and Python, and excited to explore emerging technologies like AI agents and advanced analytics platforms.
Dedicated to fulfilling ideals of diversity, inclusion, and respect that Macy’s aspires to achieve every day in every way.
Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel.
Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms.
Requires close vision.
