Position Overview

Job Description – Contracts Executive (IT/Technology Focus)

The Contracts Executive will serve as a high-level contributor within an IT organization, supporting complex contract development, negotiation, and administration for technology-related agreements. This role requires a unique combination of deep contracts expertise and strong technical understanding. The ideal candidate is capable of analyzing technical requirements, drafting agreements with precision, partnering cross-functionally, and leading sourcing initiatives.

This is a long-term engagement with the potential for conversion and requires candidates with substantial real-world experience in IT contracting.

Key Responsibilities

Review, draft, negotiate, and manage a wide range of IT contracts including:
Software development agreements
SaaS/cloud hosting agreements
Cybersecurity-related agreements
Infrastructure and other IT service-related contracts
Interpret and translate technical requirements into contractual language.
Advise IT stakeholders on contractual risks, obligations, and requirements.
Collaborate closely with legal teams while maintaining independent expertise in contract structure, terms, and negotiation.
Develop and refine scopes of work based on technical and business requirements.
Lead sourcing activities including:
Requests for Information (RFI)
Requests for Proposals (RFP)
Pre-bid meetings
Bid evaluations
Competitive bidding and supplier negotiations
Conduct market research, strategic sourcing, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis.
Ensure contracts comply with internal policies, external regulations, and industry standards.
Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Provide clear verbal and written communication to all audiences, including technical teams, legal teams, and executive stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree (required).
8+ years of experience reviewing, drafting, and/or negotiating contracts.
5+ years of experience specifically with technology-related agreements:
Software development
SaaS/cloud hosting
Cybersecurity requirements
5+ years of experience leading RFI/RFP processes including pre-bid meetings, evaluations, strategic sourcing, and vendor negotiations.
Strong ability to understand technical concepts and incorporate them into contract development.
Demonstrated experience supporting IT teams or technology environments.
Proven ability to manage multiple complex agreements simultaneously.
Strong oral communication and customer service skills, with experience serving both internal and external customers.

Preferred Qualifications

Juris Doctorate (JD) or advanced legal/contracting education (preferred but not required).
Experience supporting large, complex organizations with enterprise-level IT contracts.
Experience with strategic sourcing methodologies.
Strong analytical skills including market research and TCO analysis.

Work Environment

Onsite 4 days a week, Monday-Thursday, Remote Friday
Candidates located in the Southeast region are welcome; strong preference for individuals within commuting distance to Atlanta, GA or Birmingham, AL.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $60.00/hr.
