Product Designer (UI/UX) - Social Impact AI Start Up

Location: Remote-first (London-based office access)

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000

⏳ 4-day work week, we work 4 days and pay for 5!

The Role

Join a fast moving team who really do care about making impact! We are looking for people who care about what they do, have a focus on Product and bring ideas! This is a rare opportunity to own design end-to-end at an exciting, high-growth startup backed by world-class investors and multiple innovation award winners.

You won't just be making things look good. You'll be thinking in systems, untangling complexity, and helping real people do meaningful work more easily. If you care about usability as much as aesthetics and thrive without micromanagement, this is the role for you.

What You'll Do:

Think in systems, not just screens, designing cohesive product experiences across a complex platform
Own your work end-to-end, from early concepts through to shipped features, without needing hand-holding
Prioritise ease of understanding over superficial aesthetics with clarity always being the goal
Champion simplicity, knowing when to refactor and when to ship
Collaborate directly with engineers and business stakeholders to bring designs to life

Ideal Requirements

4+ years of experience in Product/UI/UX design, with strong Figma skills
A portfolio showcasing visually polished, user-centred UI designs
Proven experience working with engineering teams and business stakeholders
Experience working in a startup environment or as a solo/single designer
A real interest in building technology that improves people's lives

Bonus Points: Experience in civic tech, social impact, or public services would be a great plus but it's not essential. What matters most is that you care about the humans on the other side of your designs.
