A major public safety organisation is looking for a Systems Engineer to join its Platform as a Service team, supporting the core infrastructure that underpins operational and business systems.

This role sits within a hybrid Microsoft environment, spanning on-premises platforms and Azure, with a focus on identity, collaboration and secure infrastructure services.

You'll support the stability, availability and security of key platforms used across the organisation, working within an ITIL service environment to maintain and improve critical services.

Key responsibilities

Supporting identity and access platforms across hybrid infrastructure
Administering the Microsoft 365 collaboration stack
Maintaining platform health through monitoring, patching and upgrades
Investigating and resolving incidents and service issues
Supporting vulnerability remediation and security improvements
Contributing to operational procedures, documentation and service improvement

Technology environment

Active Directory, Entra ID, Entra Connect, AD FS
Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive)
Windows 10 / 11
Microsoft Azure services
Azure Security Centre, Sentinel, Log Analytics
ServiceNow and ITIL service management

What we're looking for

Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure platforms, particularly within Microsoft environments. Strong troubleshooting ability and the confidence to work across technical teams in a large operational organisation.

Location

Hybrid working with a base in Oxfordshire / Hampshire

Due to operational requirements, candidates must live within two hours of the base location and hold a full UK driving licence.

Working pattern: 37 hours per week (Mon-Thu 08:00-16:00, Fri 08:00-15:30) with occasional call-out requirements.
