Job Specifications
We are looking for an experienced Senior IP Network Architect/Engineer to support our client with the design, implementation, and operation of advanced network infrastructures across multi‑site environments and data centers.
You will bring strong expertise in L3 IP networks, Multi‑VRF, VRF‑Lite, IP/MPLS, switching, cyber security, and wireless technologies, while providing architectural guidance, operational support, and vendor management.
Key Responsibilities
Network Design, Implementation & Operation
Deliver design, implementation, and operational services for:
L3 IP Networks, Multi‑VRF, VRF‑Lite, IP/MPLS,
Switching (campus, multi‑VLAN),
Cyber security technologies (Firewall, DMZ, authentication, IPS, IPsec VPN, DMVPN, FLEXVPN),
Wireless infrastructures with lightweight access points and central switching.
Architecture & Testing
Define optimal state‑of‑the‑art network architectures balancing capacity, reliability, redundancy, and cost.
Define and execute comprehensive test plans for new technologies and architectures.
Manage vendors to ensure proper implementation of chosen architectures.
Coach internal teams through technical workshops, procedures, and knowledge transfer during the introduction of new technologies.
Technical Management of Existing Networks
Define technical rules, procedures, and standards to optimize daily operations
(remote configuration, inventory, backup, alarming, NMS, …).
Provide technical support to operational teams for daily management and network expansion.
Analyze complex fault scenarios and define preventive measures, often in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
Manage vendors during network extensions and complex incident resolution to ensure maximum network reliability.
Technical Requirements
The consultant should have strong expertise in:
L3 IP Networks, IP/MPLS, Multi‑VRF, VRF‑Lite
Switching: campus design, multi‑VLAN
Cyber security technologies: Firewall, DMZ, IPS, authentication, IPsec VPN, DMVPN, FLEXVPN
Wireless: central switching, lightweight access points
Several years of experience as a Senior IP Network Engineer
Strong operational and architectural understanding of large multi‑site infrastructures
Willingness to continuously refine and broaden knowledge
Knowledge of Nokia (SR‑OS) routers is an asset
Profile
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, ICT, Telecommunications, or equivalent practical experience
Autonomous, structured, and able to assess risks accurately
Customer‑oriented, stress‑resistant, flexible, and approachable
Strong communication skills with colleagues, departments, vendors, and service providers
Fluent in Dutch, French, and English
Holder of a B driving license
