Our client is seeking an experienced Firewall Engineer to design, build, and maintain a robust information security infrastructure across both on-prem and cloud environments.

About This Role

6-month contract (potential for extension)
Remote role, but needs to be local to Phoenix, AZ to be able to come on-site occasionally for network access requirements, equipment pickup, and occasional team meetings
Able to use W2 or visa candidates

We are seeking an experienced Firewall Engineer to design, build, and maintain a robust information security infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments. This role is responsible for the full lifecycle management of enterprise security tools and plays a critical role in protecting the organization’s network and data assets.

The position is primarily remote; however, candidates must be local to support network connectivity requirements, equipment pickup, and periodic team meetings.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain advanced network security solutions across on-premises and cloud platforms
Manage the full lifecycle of firewall and network security technologies, including configuration, testing, deployment, and ongoing administration
Administer and support Cisco firewalls and Firewall Management Center (FMC)
Implement and maintain Azure firewalls and cloud security controls
Support Zscaler Private Access (ZPA), VPN solutions, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and network monitoring tools
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve firewall and network security issues
Ensure security configurations align with organizational policies and industry best practices
Collaborate with internal teams to support security initiatives and infrastructure changes

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of hands-on experience in firewall management
Strong experience with Cisco firewalls and Firewall Management Center (FMC)
Experience supporting VPNs, IPS, and network monitoring platforms
Familiarity with cloud security technologies, including Azure firewalls
Proven ability to configure, test, and administer complex network security environments

Education & Certifications

CCNA Security or CCNP Security certification required
