Microsoft Entra ID Security Engineer

London - Hybrid Working

6 Month Contract

We are seeking a skilled Microsoft Entra ID Security Engineer to design, implement, and support identity security solutions across our enterprise cloud and hybrid environments. This role will focus on securing identities, managing access controls, implementing Zero Trust principles, and strengthening authentication and authorization mechanisms using Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory).

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in identity governance, conditional access, privileged identity management, and cloud security best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement identity security solutions using Microsoft Entra ID.
Configure and manage:
Conditional Access policies
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Identity Protection
Privileged Identity Management (PIM)
Access Reviews and Entitlement Management
Implement and maintain Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations for SaaS and enterprise applications.
Secure hybrid identity environments integrating on-prem Active Directory with Entra ID.
Monitor identity-related security events and respond to incidents.
Develop and enforce Zero Trust identity architecture principles.
Configure role-based access control (RBAC) and least-privilege models.
Implement B2B and B2C identity federation scenarios.
Support compliance initiatives (SOX, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
Automate identity lifecycle processes using PowerShell, Graph API, or automation tools.
Collaborate with security operations, cloud, infrastructure, and application teams.
Maintain documentation, standards, and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in Identity & Access Management (IAM) or cloud security.
3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID.

Strong knowledge of

Azure AD / Entra ID architecture
OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML
Conditional Access & Identity Protection
Privileged Identity Management (PIM)
Hybrid identity (AD Connect / Cloud Sync)
Experience integrating SaaS applications with SSO.
Familiarity with Microsoft security ecosystem (Defender, Sentinel, Intune).
Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API).
Understanding of Zero Trust security frameworks.
Experience troubleshooting authentication and federation issues.
Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Microsoft certifications such as:
SC-300 (Identity and Access Administrator)
AZ-500 (Azure Security Engineer)
Experience with B2C identity management.
Experience in large enterprise (5,000+ users) environments.
Familiarity with governance and identity lifecycle management tools.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) for cross-cloud identity integration.
