First Line Support Engineer - Northampton - 2/3-month contract
We are seeking a proactive and organised First Line Support Engineer to join our customers growing IT team on an initial 2 - 3-month contract . This role combines traditional first-line technical support with IT administrative responsibilities, including order processing, asset management, and general service desk coordinationThe successful candidate will be the first point of contact for IT-related queries while also supporting the smooth day-to-day running of IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the first point of contact for IT support queries via phone, email, and ticketing system
Log, categorise, and prioritise support tickets in line with SLAs
Provide first-line technical support for hardware, software, and basic network issues
Troubleshoot and resolve issues
Escalate unresolved issues to second- or third-line support where required
Raise and track purchase orders for IT equipment, software, and services
Liaise with suppliers and vendors regarding orders and deliveries
Maintain accurate records of IT assets and licences
Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes (user account creation, hardware allocation, system access)
Support documentation of IT procedures and processes
Ensure IT stock levels are monitored and replenished as required
